Never tell him the odds.

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy.

Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo (played by Alden Ehrenrich) meets his mighty future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Did you know:

Harrison Ford revealed that he’s seen the movie and thinks it’s “phenomenal”, but skipped out on the premiere with the rest of the cast because he didn’t want to steal Alden Ehrenreich’s moment of glory.

Actor Alden Ehrenreich brought his copy of the Millennium Falcon Owner’s Workshop Manual to set to talk about button sequences for a take off scene on the Falcon.

Han Solo speaks to Chewbacca in the Wookiee language. It’s the first time a non-Wookiee speaks the language, and the first time the language is translated on-screen with subtitles.

Tickets £14 (adults) and £10 (under- 25 years).  Doors open at 7pm

BOOK NOW

Wayward sisters gather on the heath.
Change is hovering on the fog and filthy air.

Macbeth, driven to murder by ambition, must now navigate his path to greatness, amidst his unsettled friends and vengeful foes, and the supernatural influences that guide his every step.

Wise + Wayward Theatre’s interpretation of Shakespeare’s tale of ambition and betrayal uses the original text, mixed with elements of text from the North Berwick witch trials (as described in James I’s Daemonologie).

This production is supported by Stroud Shakespeare Festival and is the first resident company at the Tetbury Goods Shed.

Brought to life with live music, and a cast of 8 actors, this is the perfect production for a cold winter’s night.

Suitable for age 11 years and above.   Contains scenes of violence.

Wise + Wayward Theatre

The Tetbury Goods Shed is thrilled to be supporting Wise + Wayward Theatre as its first theatre residency, providing rehearsal space and performance dates in this production of Macbeth.

Funds raised from the production will go back to Stroud Shakespeare Festival, to ensure that the festival can continue after a difficult season following the pandemic. Stroud Shakespeare Festival works with many national companies to provide high quality performances of Shakespeare in the centre of Stroud.

The last festival was in 2019, and has not been able to go ahead in 2020 and 2021. They are now raising funds for a 2023 festival.

Shed Talk with Fiona James: ‘A Closer Look at Sunday afternoon on the island of The Grande Jatte – George Seurat

23 February | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Tickets: £8.00

ADVANCE BOOKING

A Closer look …… with Fiona James

The latest in our series of talks, the idea being to encourage a more questioning approach to an artist or a work of art, even if the artist is quite familiar.

A Closer Look at …. Sunday Afternoon on the Island of The Grande Jatte 1884 – 1886 by Georges Seurat.

Seurat was an artist who was working in Paris in the period known as La Belle Époque. Like The Impressionists, Seurat wanted to paint contemporary life but he didn’t use Impressionist techniques. Why did he think Impressionism was no longer appropriate and why did he develop a new painting technique, (known variously as Pointillism, Neo-Impressione or Divisionism) to paint this monumental painting of Parisian figures at leisure on an island in The Seine?

It took Seurat nearly 2 years to complete and features over 40 figures. Who are these types and why do they appear to be socially distancing?

Georges Seurat

About a Closer Look

In our series of “a Closer Look…..” the aim is to take a longer, slower look at paintings and artists followed by a bit of time at the end of the presentation when members of the audience are invited to contribute their own observations or questions.

We hope you will join Fiona James for the first of our Closer Looks at art in 2022

Set in the port town of Dover, Mary Hussain (played by Joanna Scanlan) suddenly finds herself a widow following the unexpected death of her husband.

A day after the burial, she discovers he has a secret just twenty-one miles across the English Channel in Calais.

Reviews:

No long boring speeches peppered with big words just for the sake of it. No action sequences. Just reality. Beautiful, heart-breaking reality.

The actors are all perfect for their roles and although the basic plot has been told in a million other stories, there is something really special about After Love. It draws you in and leaves you wanting more.

The mix of English/French/Pakistani cultures is a refreshing change.

It’s probably one of the few great movies being so less lines. Totally less is more. The acting is so amazing and so natural for many dramatic scenes. Feel like it’s an art more than a movie.
